While I have not read this myself yet, it is considered a "classic" in the area of surviving childhood sexual abuse.

Unspeakable Acts: Why Men Sexually Abuse Children; Pryor, D.; Paperback; Published 1999

This is a rare and good look at the perpetrators of child sexual abuse. Unfortunately, there just isn't too much out there on this part of the topic. This is a good start.

Depression

I recently attended a professional workshop by this author. I greatly appreciated his approach to dealing with depression: here and now, active instead of passive. This book offers those suffering from depression training in various skills necessary to break out of depression. I highly recommend this book!

Some good thoughts to help you deal with depression.

Hand-Me-Down Blues; M. Yapko, Ph.D.; paperback; Published 2000

I recently attended a professional workshop offered by this author. His approach to depression is down-to-earth and focused on skills. This book focuses on how depression spreads in families and, more importantly, how to stop that spread. Highly recommended!

Pain Management

An excellent book to help people with chronic pain. It explains how pain works and offers suggestions on how to manage pain. It fills in the gap left by professionals who state: "Learn to live with it." This book attempt to tell you HOW.

 

Panic and Anxiety Disorder

A step-by-step guide to dealing with panic disorder. While I have not read this one personally, her other works are excellent.

The Anxiety & Phobia Workbook; E.J. Bourne; hardback; Published 1997

I have not actually used this book yet myself, but the workbooks from New Harbinger Press have been quite helpful in other areas and I expect this one will be as well.
